Membership
Membership of ITSN is open to all Tibet-related non-governmental organisations with a commitment to non-violence.
The complete List of ITSN Member Organisations includes groups from every continent.
In the case of organisations with multiple branches in one country and where those branches are financially and administratively controlled and/or directed from a central office, only the central office may join the network. The network will call on central offices to inform their branches of ITSN activities and liaise with them on all aspects of ITSN activities. If domestic branches have their own decision-making systems and/or administrative and financial control they may join independently. Organisations with international branches may sign up one branch per country in which they have a presence.
Each organisation which signs on as a Network member will pay an annual subscription, and will be asked to nominate at least two people as primary contacts. These people should preferably have easy access to email, and should be a member of, or willing to join the Tibet Support Group email list, TSG-L.
Each member organisation of the Network is entitled to nominate one candidate for regional elections to a Steering Committee, and to vote in regional elections to the Committee. Tibetans are actively encouraged to nominate for election to the Steering Committee.
ITSN Members have the opportunity to join Campaign Working Groups on priority issues, and thereby suggest campaign ideas and participate in the development of campaign proposals. See Campaigns for more detail about the function of Campaign Working Groups. In some cases, for example at Regional Meetings, the Steering Committee may invite the membership to vote on campaign proposals.
Non-Tibet Group NGOs may become Associate Members of the Network, without voting rights. The ITSN does not admit individual members.
If you are part of a Tibet-related organisation and wish to join ITSN, please contact Chonpel Tsering at itsn@tibetnetwork.org
